Pacific Leaders Endorse ‘2050 Strategy of the Blue Pacific’

SUVA, Fiji (IDN) — The leaders of the Pacific gathering for the first time in three years endorsed the 2050 Strategy for a Blue Pacific at the 51st Pacific Island Forum (PIF) from July 11 to July 14.

リスボン国連海洋会議で多くの公約

国連開発計画(UNDP)は、持続可能で低排出、気候変動に強い海洋関連行動を2030年までに実行することで、すべての小規模島嶼開発途上国の「ブルーエコノミー」の可能性を最大限に引き出し、100カ国にも及ぶ沿岸諸国を支援するとの公約を行った。

この公約は、ポルトガルの首都リスボンで7月1日まで5日間にわたり開催された「第2回国連海洋会議」でなされた。海洋経済国に対する政府開発援助(ODA)がこの10年間で年間平均わずか13億ドルであったことを考えると、きわめて重要な公約だ。しかし、海洋の回復や保護に対する官民の投資はきわめて不適切なレベルにとどまっている。
