NAÇÕES UNIDAS (IDN) – O Secretário-Geral Ban Ki-Moon, que continua a reiterar o papel central a ser desempenhado pela juventude na implementação dos 17 Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) da ONU até 2030, lembra que muitos jovens ao redor do mundo foram desproporcionalmente afetados por crises econômicas e recessão.

“Na condição de porta-bandeiras da nova agenda de desenvolvimento, vocês possuem um papel crítico a desempenhar na erradicação da pobreza, desigualdade, fome e degradação ambiental. Morocco Hosts the World’s largest Solar Plant

MARRAKECH (IDN) – The ambitious Moroccan plan for harnessing heat coming from the sun in the Sahara desert and turning it into electricity has drawn international attention, also during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP22), held in Marrakech, between November 7-18.

Two hundred kilometres Northeast drive from the COP22 venue lies the 450 hectares Noor solar complex. When it starts fully operating in 2018, it will power over one million households and curb 760,000 tons per year of greenhouse gas emissions.

The whole Moroccan capital city Rabat fits in this power station said to be the world’s largest solar plant compared to the size of the European city of Barcelona. Noor is located at the desert town of Ouarzazate surrounded by the Atlas mountain range and its Berber villages. संयुक्त राष्ट्र (आईडीएन) – महासचिव बान की-मून, जो लगातार इस बात पर जोर देते रहे हैं कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र के 17 सतत विकास के लक्ष्यों को 2030 तक लागू करने में युवाओं द्वारा महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई जा सकती है, ने बताया है कि आर्थिक संकट और मंदी के चलते दुनिया भर के युवा बहुत अधिक प्रभावित हुए हैं।
